Here I have a list of instructional strategies that are beneficial for student learning
Inquiry Learning- "the inquiry process focuses on the development of compelling questions, formulated by teachers and students, to motivate and guide inquiries into topics, problems, and issues related to curriculum content and outcomes" (Powerful Instructional Practices, 2011, pp. 1).
Cooperative Learning- In this strategy students are working together to meet the goal. They are able to bounce ideas off of one another and work through problems together instead of individually.
Direct Learning- This strategy is very common in the classroom. The teacher is in charge. In this strategy, the teacher carefully explains the topic, or assignment while the students are actively listening.
Indirect Learning- This strategy is the opposite of direct learning. Instead of the teacher being at the centre, this time it is the students. They are able to ask questions and gain knowledge from conversation, rather than just listening. The students are more involved.
Experiential Learning- This strategy is a hands-on approach to learning. Students are experimenting with new subject matter and they are learning it through scenarios that allow them to work through the task. This can be done collaboratively or individually.
